We care about the health and safety of your child. Giving medication is a responsibility that we take seriously, and do as a courtesy to our parents. Please help us by following these guidelines for illnesses and medications.

  1. Children with the following symptoms will be excluded from care and may not return for 24 hours after symptoms have disappeared or the ELC office has documentation from the child's physician that the child is not contagious:
    1. Fever of 100.0 in the last 12 hours
    2. Vomiting/ and or diarrhea
    3. Unexplained rash
    4. Excessive sleepiness
    5. Symptoms of other illnesses such as conjunctivitis, impetigo, ringworm, lice etc.
  2. Evangel Learning Center will not give any fever reducing medication. If your child is teething, the teachers will be able to give your child teething medication such as Oragel.
  3. Medications must be signed in at the office. If you arrive earlier than 8:00 a.m., you may sign in medication in room 111, 105, or the gym.
  4. Prescriptions must be in the original container labeled with the child's name. Samples of prescription medications may be given if accompanied by a doctor's note.
  5. Over the counter medications must be labeled with the child's name, and be age-appropriate for your child. If it is not age- appropriate, we must have a doctor's note stating the dosage to be given.
  6. Medication will be given at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. only. Please adjust your medication schedule at home to fit into these times. Medication will be given by an office staff . The only exceptions will be medication for hyperactivity such as ritalin, or breathing treatments. Please do not leave medicine in your child's backpack or cubby.
  7. We must exclude your child from care if he/she requires one on one attention by the teacher.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
